Bankura

At night, we even cycled through the the whole town. I went there in winter and it was so cold cycling through the streets. I watched people warming their hands and themselves lightening, some fire. I usually have frequent cycle rides through my own town and it was really a new experience for me, cycling through another unexplored town. It is not like typical cities. Small towns have something different, some charm in it.

Ahh, the day when I left for Bankura was full of odds. My bus had an accident. Not much serious but few people were injured. Then there was road blocks due to some propaganda and hence, I had to walk from college street to Platform 18, inside the Howrah station. Around 4 kms taking around 40 minutes. Well trekking had begun already. I had to even run and, finally reached Platform 18 just 5 minutes earlier. Seriously a bad day. Anyway, this sometimes may happen during travel.

I have mainly explored the main town, and the western and southern zones of Bankura district. Bankura town is the administrative location of the whole district. Bankura is quite hot is summers and severe cold in winters.

Dwarkeswar River flowing through it, well it is a seasonal river and becomes furious during the monsoon season. Most of the time it flows through a narrow stream of clear water over sand filled floor. I enjoyed my time walking through the cool water and spent my time sitting on the river banks. Sounds of water stream and clicking sounds of insects in the red-orange background, with a bright shining moon is what gives you pleasure. But wait, there is another creature here to disturb you. Yes the mosquitoes. They also accompany you. They sing for you in exchange of your sweet blood. Better to walk on the river bank and enjoy the sunset.
