Asansol

There are a lot of temples of historic as well as religious importance, near Asansol. Some of the temples near Asansol that I have visited are Ghagar Buri Chandi Mata Temple and Maa Kalyaneswari Temple. Lots of people have their “mannat”, (a type of vow before God) in these temples. People strongly believe that their prayers and “mannats", at these places, are fulfilled by God.

Located around 220 kms from Kolkata, it is one of the largest cities in the western part of West Bengal. Asansol is quite hot is summers and mild to severe cold in winters.

We took a yellow cab to travel around Asansol. Yes, the historic and famous yellow cabs run here in this city too. While travelling through the highways, the view on both sides are quite different than the typical view we get. Coal mines are present adjacent to the highways. Fields are not covered with much vegetation and small highly regions with sparse trees. However, as I always mention, the journey is what excites my eyes.
